Hi! For those of you who don't know me, my name is Jeffrey. When I decided to write an
author's page for Madison Avenue Online, I thought it should be presented in a very
upright and professional manner, much the way that Madison Avenue's entire site has been
over the past few years. So if you want to know more about Jeffrey as the consumate
professional, read on. If you want to know what really makes me tick, click here.

In December of 1990, after having spent 8 years as a stylist in the hair industry, I opened my first salon in Madison, NJ - Madison Avenue Hair Color & Design. The idea was to create an elegant yet unpretentious atmosphere for our clients, perform our services using the very best products the beauty industry has to offer, and keep the prices as reasonable as possible.
Now, six years and several 'off-shoot' businesses later, including our newest salon (Madison Avenue West), Madison Avenue is recognized as one of New Jersey's best salons.
I got my first computer (an ATARI 800) about 10 years ago, and began exploring this exciting new world. I taught myself what I needed to know (since I've never been a fan of formal education), and began programming interactive applications for clients to use while in the salon. These applications were much like a web site, with links to all sorts of information about the salons and our professional product lines. Programming became a wonderful new creative outlet for me. Little did I know, the World Wide Web was waiting just around the corner...
About two years ago, when the World Wide Web came into being, Madison Avenue became America's first Interactive Salon. I incorporated my knowledge of programming interactive applications with what I learned about HyperText Markup Language (HTML), and off we went into Cyberspace. The rest is history. Madison Avenue Online now recieves more than 1,000,000 hits per year, and we have gained thousands of new friends and clients all over the United States and the world.
Although I've never had any formal training in computer programming or HTML, I try to keep abreast of new technologies and applications in order to make your visits to our site more enjoyable and, hopefully, educational.
Alot of people ask me about the software used to create my web pages and graphics, and which browser I use to surf the Net. As far as graphic design, I always have, I do now, and I probably always will use Paint Shop Pro. And as of July 1997, I am addicted to the new Microsoft FrontPage 97 web site Administrator. Sadly enough, I've left Netscape Navigator for Microsoft's Internet Explorer. I also use Microsoft's new Personal Web Server to Administer this site.
